[ID] How to get your RON/Electronic Endorsement in Idaho

If you are an existing Idaho notary, you can visit the Idaho Secretary of State's website and apply to file an amendment to your traditional license.
NOTE: If you do not already have a notary license, you will need to complete that as your first step, but if you're applying for a traditional commission you can apply for online authorization at the same time [detailed in step 2]

Steps To Become a RON in Idaho
Step 1: Sign-up & Create Your Account With Everythinglegal.com

Step 2: Access your Notary Registration Account
NOTE: if you're applying for a traditional commission with an online authorization at the same time, fill out the Notary Public Application With Electronic or Remote Online Notarization
The instructions are different if you already have access to your Secretary of State notary record, as you will not have to go through the additional steps to request access to it:
If you DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR NOTARY REGISTRATION, follow the steps below before proceeding with filing an amendment:
- Go to Online Business Services | Idaho Secretary of State
- Click Login on the top right of the screen. You may create an account if you have not done so already.
- Upon logging in, you will have 5 blocks on your screen listing the different divisions. In the Notary block, you must select 'Search for a notary'
- Search your commission number.
- The name should appear in a blue box. Click on the blue box.
- Upon clicking on the blue box, a panel will slide out to the right. At the bottom of the panel, you must click the 'Request Access' icon and follow the prompts.
- Upon gaining access, you will have a new icon at the top of the same panel that says File Amendment. *Note: if you do not see the amendment icon instantly, just refresh your search and it should appear once refreshed.
- A list of amendments will appear. You may select Additional of Electronic/Remote Technology.
If you are a USER THAT ALREADY HAS ACCESS TO YOUR NOTARY REGISTRATION, follow the instructions provided below:
- Go to Online Business Services | Idaho Secretary of State
- Login on the top right
- Upon logging in, you will have the blocks listing the different division. Under the Notary block, click Update Information.
- You will be taken to your Notary records. You must click your name in the blue box.
- A panel will slide out to the right. At the top of the panel, select File Amendment.
- Within the list of amendments, you may choose Addition of Electronic/Remote Technology.

Step 3: Complete & Submit the Authorization for Electronic/Remote Online Notarization form
Submit the Authorization for Electronic/Remote Online Notarization form to the ID Secretary of State:
- Print and sign the Statement of Compliance on the form
- Get it notarized by another Idaho Notary
- Mail the notarized form, a sample of your Digital Certificate (example below) and the $20 filing fee
- Receive your authorization certificate from the Secretary of State
Once your application is approved and you receive your authorization certificate, you may begin utilizing the Everything Legal platform to serve your clients who are not physically present.
To satisfy the 'certificate sample' requirement, physically print out the image of your Digital Certificate (provided to you through the Everything Legal platform) to include with your mailing of your application:

Step 4: Review Idaho Secretary of State's Notary Training Page & Resources
