Before you can use the Notary Hub platform by Everything Legal, you will need to be currently commissioned as a traditional notary.

Note: If you do not already have a notary license, you will need to complete that as your first step.

Steps To Become a RON in Oregon

Step 1: Sign-up & Create Your Account With NotaryHub.com by Everything Legal

Obtain your Digital Certificate, Electronic Signature & Digital Stamp from our partners at SSL through our all-in-one platform!

Everything legal also provides you with the required Electronic Journal for documenting your remote online notarizations.

For instructions on how to properly save your digital certificate to your computer, refer to the help article here: Get Your Digital Certificate

Step 2: Complete the Remote Online Notarization Training.

It is important to understand the process and ensure all the requirements are met before starting to notarize remotely.

Training is required by the Oregon Secretary of State before you can begin - The SOS office provides their required remote online notarization training on their website.

Step 3: Notify the Oregon Secretary of State

Email the completed Remote Online Notarization Notice form along with a PDF document showing the stamp and signature from your Notary Hub profile to

[email protected].

The PDF you are required to submit with your form, must show the digital stamp and signature from your RON platform. It must be your finalized stamp and signature applied to a sample document.

When you follow the onboarding steps in your Notary Hub profile, you will complete a practice online notarization session, after which you will have the opportunity to download and save a PDF of the sample document containing your digital stamp & signature.

Step 4: Wait for SOS Approval

Your request will be reviewed, and confirmation will be sent to your email informing you if it has been approved. Once you have received acknowledgment of approval, you may proceed with conducting remote online notarizations.

Additional Notes & Resources:

  • When you renew your commission, you will need to complete a new notice to continue to perform Remote Online Notarizations
  • Qualifying to perform Remote Online Notarizations doesn't automatically qualify you to perform IPEN (In-Person Electronic Notarization) - This is a separate process.
  • Your signature when performing Remote Online Notarizations must match the signature that you provided on your official oath of office - Reference the OR Notary Stamp Guidelines
